Little Acorns' Home Learning

During the third national lockdown (January/February/March 2021), we are forced to move to remote learning. We are using Google Classroom as our platform to host work and have regular Google Meets.

You will need a log in for Google Classroom (your child brought one home in October) but if you have mislaid this, don't worry - just get in touch.

The documents below will help with Google Classroom - there is a parent's guide and also our Remote Learning Provision document.

In EYFS, the main emphasis for learning should be through play. It would not be appropriate for such young children to be sitting in front of a computer all day long.

The pattern for Little Acorns is as follows:

  • Daily phonics session through phonics play, youtube or another resource

  • Daily maths session, usually through White Rose Maths resources, but we may change it occasionally

  • Daily knowledge and understanding of the world activity - usually through Oak National Academy

  • An overarching topic with activities associated

  • There will be 2 live Google Meets per week - Tuesday at 1.45pm and Friday at 1.45pm and the class teacher will also put up recorded stories linked to the current topic.

As always, if you are unsure or need help - please get in touch!
