Redwoods (Year 6)
Welcome to Year 6!
The Redwoods' Teachers are Mrs Lomas and Mrs Whitaker. The teaching assistant in Redwoods is Miss Donnelly along with other support staff.
Redwoods is open from 8.40am and the end of the school day is 3.15pm. This is 32 hours 55 minutes per week.

PE Days and Equipment Needed
PE is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Children will need their red polo shirt, black shorts and trainers. In the winter we will still go outside for some PE lessons if it is dry so warm clothing is advisable! Jogging bottoms or leggings plus a warm top such as a school hoody would be great. If your child wears earrings, they will need to take them out for PE lessons. If they cannot do this independently, they should leave them at home on PE days. Other jewellery should not be worn to school.
Trainers need to be in school every day as the children run the Daily Mile on the days that they don't have PE.
Water bottles should be brought in and taken home every day.
Please do not send pencil cases or any stationary into school as it only causes upset when lost or used by other children. It's great for homework though!
Homework
Homework will be sent home on Fridays. This will consist of a maths worksheet which will consolidate the learning from that week, a spelling worksheet with words to learn for a test the following Friday and most weeks there will also be some reading to complete from our class text. The children will record the pages/chapters that they need to read. This should be completed over the weekend and the book returned to school on the following Monday.
