Chestnuts Home Learning
Message from Mrs Hamilton - 31.03.20
It has been lovely to hear from some of you and to find out what you have been doing.
Here is a reminder of the things I have sent for you to do.
You have two books to read that you brought home but I've found an online site where you can read books for free - just use the following link
You have also been allocated some books to read on Bug club (you can access this through Active learn).
I would like you to do some writing regularly in the pink book that I gave you. I have also sent you links to Teach handwriting which will show you animations of cursive joins. I would also like you to write a short diary entry every day. Use your best cursive writing and don't forget to check for punctuation and spelling mistakes.
You will find a sheet of important spellings in your pink book. I would like you to practise 5 different words every couple of days using the visual methods that we use at school - make pyramids, draw around the shape of the word, different colours for vowels/consonants, missing vowels, write backwards, make a rainbow, make into a picture or make up a little saying to help you remember.
I will keep setting activities on Sumdog and TT Rockstars for you to practise your 2,3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables.
Keep checking for activities on Sumdog and Active Learn
Science, History and Geography
You will find some activities in your pack but I will keep emailing things and using Science Bug on Active Learn
French and Music
I have emailed things for you to be working through and don't forget to use Yumu.
Have a good day and take care of yourselves.
