Chestnuts Home Learning
Message from Mrs Hamilton - 13.07.20
I hope you had a fantastic weekend. One more week to go to the summer holidays.
I have attached your time table for this week and below you will find the resources that you need for Monday.
Let's kick the day off with some exercise. You will find links to Real PE (its the jasmine link), Joe Wicks, Go noodle and Cosmic Kids Yoga below the time table. For Real PE you will need username: and password: rippondenj
Read for 20 minutes each day. There are books set for you on Bug Club (Activelearn) and you can read/listen to free books on the Book Trust site (link below time table). You can also read books, newspapers or comics from home too. The reading in your English task also counts towards this too.
First we will revise measures on Sumdog. Then go to BBC home learning to 'Compare capacity'.
Spelling, Punctuation, Grammar, Handwriting and Dictionary Work.
Today is dictionary work. You are going to be looking up some unusual or tricky words from our learning this week - stifling, disturbed, bake and buljol, sauntered, machete.
Today we are going to begin our new text - Gregory Cool. I've attached the first part for you to read today but first look at the front and back covers. Then I would like you to imagine that you are Gregory. You have just arrived in a strange country to spend some time with your grandparents who you don't know very well. How would you be feeling? Write your diary entry explaining all your feelings about the situation and what you think of Tobago so far.
Today you are going to learn about Tobago. This is where our new text is set. Use the following link to research facts about Tobago so that you can write a non chronological report.
That's it for Monday. Let me know how you are getting on and I'm here to help if you need me.
